Who do we serve?
We serve adults who:
- Are age 60 and over
- Are non-driving or limited driving
- Live in their own residence or live in a senior living community where they do not have access to transportation services
- Live within the boundary of our service area (see map)
- Are able to walk on their own or with walkers or cane (Volunteers cannot transport wheelchairs or lift clients in any manner)
- Clients must own and carry a cellular phone to maintain contact with volunteers and staff while using Chariot Services for transportation.
Where do we go?
We serve 18 zip codes in South, Southwest, and Southeast Travis County as well as Lakeway, Dripping Springs, and Elgin.
How do we do it?
We are a free service providing rides 7 days a week within our service area. Our volunteer drivers are at the ready to provide you, or a loved one, door-to-door service for one-way or roundtrip requests.
Once you have enrolled in our service (see form below), you can simply call us at 512-445-5552, Monday-Friday 9-5 to schedule rides (ride requests must be submitted to Chariot at least 7 days before your appointment).

Our background checked, trained volunteer drivers sign up to drive you using our online ride calendar. Once clients are screened for eligibility, they can request rides online or by phone with our Service Coordinator team. We have Spanish speaking coordinators to help clients with requests when needed.
For group rides, paid van drivers provide weekly scheduled rides throughout our growing service area for grocery shopping, senior center activities, and fitness classes to keep seniors living independently. Our paid drivers also are available to provide individual rides when volunteers are not available.
Added benefit:
Because volunteers often choose to repeatedly drive the same client, friendships and community are formed. This connection and comfort separate us from other costly, impersonal options such as Uber and Lyft.
