Dear Friends of Drive a Senior Central Texas,
As you know, our program serves non-driving adults over 60, many who have underlying health conditions making them more vulnerable to COVID-19. In early March, Drive A Senior Central Texas put in-place a COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan, immediately halted all group rides and transitioned to professional drivers providing rides to essential medical appointments such as radiation, infusions, shots and more.
Since March, we provided over 560 free medical rides and errands to over 200 seniors, logging over 14,000 miles driven – all provided at no cost to the senior. Our services gave them the peace of mind of knowing they had a reliable and safe ride to their treatments and food, vital prescriptions and medical supplies. During this same period of time, over 50 seniors or their families have contacted us about enrolling into our program. There is a tremendous need for our services in our greater Austin community.
We Are Asking for Your Help
Your donation will help us get to our goal of $35,000 to fund our work and replace lost revenue from canceled 2020 in-person fundraising events.
